Looking for suggestions to add strength training...

Hi there!

So I am a 42 female. I am at least 75 pounds overweight.

I have been really good about getting my cardio (run/walk/treadmill/etc) in. However, I feel like my weight is going down VERY slowly. When I was younger it came off so much easier. LOL

People have suggested that I add in a day of strength training to my workouts.

I am not sure where to begin. I am not in love with the idea of doing strength training but am willing to try.

Can anyone suggest where I can find a once a week (maybe two) strength training plan? I have a small gym here at work that i go to - with some dumbells, an exercise ball, bench, but mostly cardio equipment.

Thanks!
Charmaine

Look Up the new rules of lifting for woman .. my girlfriend started it a little over a month ago, very good program for someone that is newer or brand new to strength training.

NROLFW is actually a 2-3x/week program.
Most programs are designed for 2-3 days, preferably 3 days/week.

NROLFW is a good program, I started it, it gets very fussy very fast.
It does explain all of the moves in the book which is great but depending on your situation you might not have all of the required equipment.

There is Starting Strength and StrongLifts which are simpler programs.

It depends on what your goals are and what you have access to.
So please provide a little more information.
