30 day shred question

Hey everyone. I have seen on the forums that a lot of people have tried Jillian Michaels' 30 day shred. First of all, does it work well? Second of all, do you need a lot of equipment for it? I have just started my diet and exercise program, today actually, and have been researchingn ways to work out. I looked at books from Borders, but a lot of the workout books there, you need gym equipment. I am looking for something to do at home for right now. Any suggestions?

  • You just need hand weights and a mat if you're working out on a hard surface.

    Oh, it works. I would suggest that before you go out and buy it, try doing jumping jacks and jumping rope first. If you can do those without getting a headache like I did, you should be good to go. I'm going to attempt it again when I lose more weight. I'm hoping that's all it was...just too much weight.
    As for equipment, it calls for hand weights. Depending on what surface you'll be doing this on, maybe a floor mat.

    Thank you both! I wanted to try doing something a little easier first. I eventually want to do Insanity because I have a lot of friends who have done that and love it. I wanted to try to lose some weight first. I think I'll give 30 day shred a try though. Just need weights now!
