i need help..but..Its good to know someone out there is at the same point i am...
I started at 154 in jan, and am only down to 146. Well i was at 145 and then gained a lb back this week. I workout 5-7 days a week. typically zumba, and i do get my heartrate going. m for 2 hours, w 1 hour thur 1 hour f 1 hour and sun 1 hour.and if im up to it, i exercise at home on t and sat. I do zumba, a variety of them aqua and land. But i have been stuck at 146 for seriously over a month. I reduced my caloric intake alot, and eat back the exercise calories. But the question is..should i be losing more weight? I hate it! I use to have a metabolism people would love to have. then about a year after my daughter was born, like over 2 months, i gained 50 lbs. My daughter is 2 now. not trying to gross anyone out, but havent gotten my "girl thing" in almost 6 months, but the doctors cant find anything wrong with meyet..blood work seems ok. but thats all they have done so far. i have never had a problem in this area before. I wonder if this has anything to do with my weight loss?NNOO i am not pregnant....anyone have any advice or ideas...or atleast let me know im not the only one! I think i would feel so much better about what i am doing and continuing to go ...

You may be under eating esp. if tom hasn't visited.

You suffer ammenorhea (sp??) because you are not eating enough to support all that activity. This is a problem. Please Eat more.

Calculate your TDEE for moderately or very active modifier and eat at a reasonable deficit from there. With TDEE you do not eat back your caloried from exercise as they are already factored in.

There is something wrong with your hormones if TOM stops at age 26 for no apparent reason. Please get a referral to an endocrinologist. This is likely why you cannot lose weight.

The disappearance of your menstural cycle is of greater concern than the stalling of your weight loss. Definitely get that checked out first. That's your first priority. See a specialist as soon as you can.

Second priority, you probably need to eat more - like WAY more. Like 2000 to 2500 calories/day, I would guess. Find out for sure here: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ - It sounds like you'll want to select "5-6 hours/week" for your activity level - or even the "7-21 hours/week" option. That much cardio will really kick your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) into high gear.

But don't take my word for it, you've gotta find these things out for yourself. Don't just arbitrarily pick some number of calories. See what works for you. And the results happen over weeks and months - not days. Be patient. Good luck.

This ^^ Judging just from what you've posted here, it sounds like a hormone disorder.

If your Dr. won't do it, then call an endocrinoligist, tell them what is going on and that your Dr doesn't think anything is wrong, ask if they will request the referral from your Dr. If necessary, get a different GP, anybody with a brain in their head can figure out there is something wrong with this picture.

i would stop taking those, you don't need them. they are not doing anything for weight loss

I found it helpful to go to a dietician for fine tuning my food plan. She told me to chill out and let my body adjust to the new level of metabolism. She said it could take a week to a month. She was emphatic NOT to touch a thing. Just keep doing what I was doing. The plateau is a "readjustment" of the whole body (brain, organs, muscles) to adapt to the new level. If I try to tweak it to force more weight loss, I will mess with the process and gain it back. I have found it essential to work with a dietician who is mindful of my occasional insaneness about weight loss NOW. She reminds me that I will be patient or I will gain.

You should likely reconsider using these - these could be part of the problem. Get your BMR and TDEE numbers, and then eat a deficit from your TDEE _without_ eating less than your BMR. That, plus exercise, and leave the unproven quickfix weightloss gimmicks alone.

If you were starving yourself (eating under your BMR) then it may take a bit to adjust. Don't weigh yourself for a week or two, but track those calories.

ya, i have been doing reading and that was how i based my number. lol i dont just do things because, i will do research first. ya missing of my period is beginning to seem more important. my doctor just kept blowing it off, it seems. I was there when i didnt get it for 2 months and she was all..come back again in 2 months if u dont get it, so i did and she drew blood and everything came back normal. That was almost 2 months ago. i am waiting to see if it doesnt come again at the end of this month, if not i was going to go back to her. wher ei think she will do a ultrasound. I have never had this problem. and i always thought something was wrong with my thyroid, even tho levels are normal. I have had the hardest time losing weight, when before i was the person who would never gain a lb. But thank you. it does seem i need to do somemore reading up on some of this stuff. and get my *kitten* and new doctor who actually cares.

I'd find another doctor on your insurance and do a 'new patient' visit to discuss your lack of menstruation. then maybe they will refer u to a specialist. That should be number one priority right now.

What about the structure of your diet, maybe its top heavy in one thing and not heavy enough in another, I read that increasing your protien and reducing your fat can be helpful if you are working out a lot. otherwise you just burn your muscle up . or dont build any more, I think you need muscle to loose weight properly. apearently if your stuck and not loosing weight and doing everything right that if you increase your calories a little with good food, like some extra salad or lean chicken or fish it can help kick start your matabolism... this is assuming of course that your caloric intake has been level and low enough for a while. it fools your body outof believing your starving. ??,
