I've noticed that I've suddenly got stretch marks on the inside of my thighs since I've been losing weight - is this normal?!

I have never been "big" but I was a tiny bit overweight and i've lost like 8kg over the last five weeks and all of a sudden i've got these tiny white skin indentations in lines....

any tips for getting rid of them?

That's what I've got. There's this bio oil stuff in the UK (dunno if you live there) apparently it's really good, gonna get some - but where the hell have they come from pfffft! I've never had any cellulite or stretch marks then allll of a sudden I lose weight and get all bumpy!

It just genetics. my butt-cheeks are full of white lines and I have had them since I was 10 -11 years old so it had nothing to do with puberty or weight because I was all skin and bones when I was 10-11 years old, I did grow like well over 30 cm taller when I was 11, but was all skin and bones until I was 15, that's when everything shifted.

oh by the way you have probably gotten them on the inner thighs along with the weight, but because the skin was stretched out according to your body it wasn't noticeable, but now that you've lost some weight the skin has to catch up.

About the Bio oil, I have it as well but I haven't been using it regularly to know if it can have any effect on my stretchmarks or scars, by the way, I have developed those stretchmarks on the inner thighs this past year as well, but even if the bio oil doesn't work for that I would probably still use it, because it makes my skin as soft as a newborn baby's.

You get stretch marks from putting on weight, not losing it. They've probably been there for ages but you didn't notice them. When they're new they're red or purple and fade to white over time (and they'll be more obvious when you're tanned). Unfortunately, there's not a lot you can do at this stage, bio oil is great but it is not quite that miraculous.
I have very fine white stretch marks on my thighs and hips from when I put on weight as a teenager. Twenty-five years later I've given up trying to get rid of them because very few people will get to see them and, really, no one notices.

Save your money on the creams and oils. Stretch marks occur when the deepest layers of the skin literally tear apart due to rapid weigh gain, and blood rushes in to fill the gap, which is why they look red or purple at first. Over time scar tissue forms and they fade to a skin color or white. Creams and oils don't penetrate to those layers. I believe only certain types of lazer therapy truly help with fading them faster. So if they're already white, you got them a long time ago.

I assume you can get them from muscle gains?

I have some more on my tummy right now that hurt :( red I put creme just to make them feel better.

I have been losing weight but maybe I should lay off abwork? Maybe that is causing it.

I think that sometimes depends on fluctation weight, if you constantly go up and then down the possibility of get that marks will increase.

You're not getting them for losing weight.

You are seeing them from losing weight.

You got them from GAINING weight rapidly.

Stretch marks are literally tears in the flesh under the skin as it pulls apart from rapid growth. If you do it really fast they are dark red from blood. Otherwise it's slow and they're lighter. As you lose weight, the fat the holds it all up against the skin goes away and it puckers. Think of a balloon blown up tight. Let out the air and you see the puckers and unevenness of the stretched balloon skin. Gross, but true.

It will get lighter with time as your body readjusts to its new, thin shape.

No, it's not. You are losing more muscle than fat. If you retain your muscle, it will shrink your fat evenly and you won't sag. But you are doing something wrong on your diet. You will see large women who lost lots of *weight* only sag like crazy, and that's FAT. Then, after you have lost the *weight*, you will gain it back because you lost muscle mass, and will have retained more fat. Try the Ideal Protein diet. It helps preserve your muscle. Today is my 70th day and I have lost 38 pounds so far. Yes, I have lost some muscle, about 12 pounds of it, but the rest is fat loss. It's basic science and women do great on this diet.

What everyone has said is correct: you didn't get stretch marks from losing weight. That is impossible. You got the stretch marks from growing/gaining weight. You can see them now because the skin in that area is looser than before. White stretch marks have already healed as much as they EVER will. Don't buy creams or oils - it's a waste of money. They will look the way they do now forever.

Luckily nearly everyone has them and most people don't notice them at all. Just a part of life!

Yeah, my stretch marks seem to be less visible when I do lose weight. I do use lotion(inexpensive) that I think reduces the appearance of cellulite. It has worked with me(even before I started working out).

I've been using dermelastic serum for 1 month. I have stretch marks on my butt cheeks due to a fast loss of weight. But for now it looks like this serum is really working!..The only sad thing is that each tube lasts only from 1 to 2 months.
