Marathon Training

Hello all!

This will be my second and third marathon. I plan on doing a marathon in October and my next marathon about a month later.

I'm currently following Hal Higdon's personal best pre-marathon and marathon training program. The problem I'm having is that this program tends to be less than what I currently run. I typically do about 5-8 miles 4 times a week and a long run of 10+. Typically do 30+ miles a week. 1 day hill work and 1 day 10/20/30's.

My question is, should I lower my current running amount to what the schedule calls for, or keep running what I'm running until the schedule calls for more than I'm currently running?

Sorry if this is confusing.

The program maybe written for newbies.
Doesnt he eventually catch up to your distance?
I would and pick up speed for the runs you are considering shorter than you current.
    What is your 5k time?

5K is about 24 minutes. Improved from 29 minutes last year.

He does eventually catch up in a few weeks. I just enjoy running longer.

    Thanks!
