Oh yeah, I was a semi vegetarian for a long long time as well. There would be days and days I didn't eat meat. But, I ended up protein deficient I think being semi vegetarian gave me the illusion that if I ate meat once in a while I would get enough protein. Ironically I get more protein in a vegan diet than a semi vegetarian one.
Prior to my pregnancy with DD I was a strict vegetarian. So a little over 11 years that way, though definitely not vegan. In that time I learned how to get my protein without meat, so now I really don't need the meat for it. My family likes meat though, so sometimes it's just easier to make something with meat. But my DH, who is a major carnivore, has learned to love some of my vegetarian dishes so I do more of those than anything else. I've also been trying out more new recipes lately and so far we've both been pleased.0 -
