Running injury

I am a life-long runner who has recently experienced ankle pain when I run. I run on a treadmill indoors, and have never experienced this sort of injury, however I have experienced others in the past.
The pain is not severe, but moves from my ankle, across my foot, to the other side.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to reduce ankle pain while running -- or how to prohibit the injury from progressing further?

If you haven't changed where you run or gotten a different type of shoe or recently tried to change your stride or anything, I'd go see a doctor. It could be a stress fracture or something.0

I had something similar once. I think I had my shoes laced too tightly but that's just a guess. I ended up taking a couple weeks off running and it was fine after that. Don't keep running on it if it hurts while you run.0

Well, I just got new shoes. That might explain it. Thanks.0
