Hi, I am new here and just started tracking my food intake. However, it only allows me to pick grams instead of ounces, tablespoons, cups etc. Can someone please tell me how to change this when logging my food? Thank you very much!

1 - Wrong section of the forums

2 - what are you trying to log because A LOT of items here, especially the items with the * in the database, have multiple ways to enter the item - grams, ounces, cups, size, etc.

PS: grams are far superior than cups, tablespoons & such.

28.35 grams in one ounce. Tablespoons, cups etc. will all vary by the density of the food. A cup of Lettuce weighs less than a cup of nuts. Hope this helps

I suggest getting a food scale and sticking with grams for most things. Unfortunately "tablespoon", "teaspoon" "cup", etc are not near as accurate as grams. For instance, a serving of my ice cream is "1/2 cup" or 69 grams. 69 grams doesn't even come close to filling up a half cup measuring cup. I was majorly over eating when I was using measuring cups and spoons according to serving size and I thought I was doing so well! Think of how many extra calories you eat if you're eating 1/3 more peanut butter than intended!
  • I am thinking of using another app. I hate the grams. I don't want to keep Googling something that should be there. I'm still upset about the metric system...lol

I agree, superior or not, everything in the US is in ounces etc. So is the final word that one canNOT change the measurements to always show in grams?

After awhile, you will just have the conversions memorized. In the meantime, however, just Google grams to ounces, teaspoons to tablespoons, etc. A calculator will pop up where you can enter the one number and have it spit out the other number for you.
