...BUT SERIOUSLY is this not an amazing idea:

an app where you take a picture of your meal and it figures out the calories from the picture???!???

please someone make this.

edit because I'm drunk typing.

i love the idea. Sometimes the best ones come when you loosen up with a little liquor.

With my luck it'd come back and say "You do realize that what you ate wasn't food right?"

That would be great, in theory. Especially for foods from restaurants that don't have their nutrition facts on the website, or home made meals.

Unfortunately, there's no way. How can a picture detect low fat from high fat cheese, yogurt, sour cream, etc?.

Also, what about a calzone? The picture can't see what's stuffed inside of the delicious pastry pocket, whether it's full of spinach, or ooey gooey cheese.

Ya know, in ancient Persia they used to have these gathering to exchange ideas (or "meeting" if you would call them). Once they settle upon a decision they'd get drunk and argue again just to make sure their ideas were sound.

I would get dounuts hide them under a pile of lettuce and then take a picture. This would magically make the donuts 0 calories. Failproof.
