So this is what hungry feels like.....

Day 2 of logging again.... I was shocked to see I had not logged in here since early 2009!! I have spent the last 2 years yo-yoing between 120 and 140.... seems like every 6 months I am one extreem or the other!! Going to do this the "right" away again and log my food, exercise my BUTT off, and get back to a health middle weight that I can maintain....
But SERIOUSLY.... I dont think I have felt hungry in 6 months! I forgot what this felt like!!

yeah, and it is not a pleasant feeling for me =( I will be glad when my body gets over feeling deprived...maybe it's a mental thinig for me????0

Try drinking more water before and with meals, and maybe eating smaller meals more frequently... feeding your body fuel is a big part of weight loss and having the energy to exercise!0

I'm not sure what you have been eating. But try eating more raw foods and less processed foods. Up your water and protein intake and you shouldn't feel hungry.0

I could be wrong, but I don't think you should feel hungry! Hunger will make you binge and "fall off the wagon" or eat things you really didn't want to. Have lots of snacks, eat lots of fruits and veggies, they always fill me up but have the least amount of calories, and yes, like mentioned above, drink lots of water! That helps me too.0

I agree that drinking water before and with meals is helpful. I drink a lot of water and very rarely feel hungry even though I am on 1450 calories or less a day. I hope it helps. Good luck!0

I agree with the ladies, i was shocked to see i had only eaten 900 calories all day the other day was full, knowing that was unhealthy i polled my lovely mpf friends and they helped me come up with a fruit smoothie, but the point is, changing how and when you eat along with your body adjusting it won't be long before you are feeling full again0

Big salad with lunch & dinner. Ton'sa lettuce, tomato, green pepper, onions, radishes. Little dab of free italian dressing. That'll do it. Works for me.0

Even though you're trying to eat less you shouldn't be hungry. I'm no expert so am just trying to share what I have learned along my journey.
The fact you're hungry suggests that you're probably not making the best food choices. Try to incorporate the follwoing:
- have protein with every meal
- drink water before each meal
- eat little and often (every 3 hrs ish)
- reduce your sugar intake
- try to eat less processed foods
- replace white bread, rice, pasta with brown (wholemeal instead)
It's difficult at first but once you get into it, it will be natural.

I like that hungry feeling, it makes me feel like I'm achieving something. Isn't this the time when the body is burning the reserves (a.k.a. 'fat')? I also think I feel a little more energetic when I'm feeling hungry. If it gets too intense I'll grab something light to help curb it, but for the most part I try to keep myself a little bit hungry all the time during the day.0

You have been given some very good advice on here...the only thing I would add is that hungry feels alot better to me than the extra pounds did...and I eat whenever I feel hungry...i remember last year this time I was eating all the time and never felt hungry...it was about this time that I started to think about making some changes...focus on vegetables and protein to fill the empty / hungry parts of your day...even 6 almonds can make the difference between being famished and overindulging and staying the course...they are a good thing to keep handy in case!0

I think it differs day to day. But I can definitely relate to you on feeling the hunger sometimes. I mean realistically to lose weight you are eating less calories then you are burning each day. So hunger does happen, seeing as your body physically has a reason to be acting as such. I usually eat something fibre filled and low cal like veggies or fruit to tide me over when hunger strikes.
I have also found that protein in the morning, even some egg whites on toast really helps. Protein makes me feel full, and for a longer period of time. Good luck!0
