I don't know what else to eat.

I want to lose ~100lbs. I am 38, and was a college FB and LAX player. (I've lost about 18 pounds in the past 2-3 weeks).

I still have the frame of an athlete but its been covered with fat like a parade float is covered with flowers. After my wife and I had kids, I would sit around all day in an office job, then go home and stare at my computer all night after eating some Chinese food, snacking on crap and washing it all down with beer after beer. (<3 beer, I haven't forgotten you)

I gave up all the crap I was eating, and am clinging on to Eating to Live, Not Living to Eat. I;ve had a beer here and there, and some easter treats, but very very little.

My day of eating goes like this:

Bfast = Protein Shake with FF Yougurt and Berries - 200 cals
Lunch = Garden Salad - Grilled Chicken - Water - 200 cals
Dinner = Garden Salad - Grilled Chicken or Whitefish - Stolen Spoon of my sons mac and cheese - 350ish cals

1 hour walk @ 3.5mph - a few hundred calories and then hit my 35 pound dumbells for some weight training.

I'm a tubber now, so my calories for the day add up to 2400 (with exercise) You can see I am netting like... nothing in calories. But I don't know what to eat. I'm a few weeks in and foods just make me sick to look at. My wife made some Weight Watchers Stir Fry recipe, and as she poured in a few tablespoons of Soy Sauce I thought to myself (I'm not eating all that sodium). I just grilled up some chicken and ate taht over a salad again. My instinct is to want to add more protein, but I am sure I don't know what to do.

I don't want to eat. I hate eating. I'm so wrong about how I'm doing this. I'm losing plenty of weight but it's too fast. I don't want to be skinny and saggy...

I need some help with ideas for other kinds of food to eat please. Specifically what types of things I could snack on during the day and add to meals that would be fuel for my body, not just calories to input.

Don't worry about what I like to eat, I'll eat pretty much anything. I'm just looking for things like "Add a 1/4 of almonds to breakfast". Fire away. =)

    1) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912920-in-place-of-a-road-map-3-2013

    2) Unless your doctor has told you to stay away from sodium, then it actually isn't a major issue. An active individual with a balanced and nutrient dense diet does not need to worry about his or her sodium levels. If you are drinking at least a gallon of water a day, you'll pee most of it out. The science is very clear, we know this isn't a major issue. The only caveat is that you can't really go around eating McDonalds 5 times a day.

    3) Protein bars will help you. Just Google something like "healthy snacks". Why wait around for someone to do it for you?

Right off you look like you need some healthy fat, so use olive oil (extra virgin), nuts, avacados, eggs. And add some more variety. You will never last just eating chicken breasts. I eat a ton of chicken thighs (they taste better), eggs, fish, top round steak. Maybe add some carbs like sweet potatoes, rice. There are tons of vegetables you can choose from.

Add some of us fellow MFPers as friends and look at our diaries. I am not perfect, but you may see some choices you like.

    Good luck to you.

In regards to what I quoted: "Just googling" it isn't always helpful. After I sift through the ads, BS programs and other 22 million sites that come back, it can get a little overwhelming. I thought this seemed like a great place to start rather than google. Plus... how do you know I am not a Bing or Yahoo fan?

Thanks for the replies and the link. I feel like I have some jumping off points. Glad I started my search here
