Can i go from skinny fat to healthy with balance?

What i mean by this is can i go from skinny fat to healthy with a balance diet like eat healthy as often as possible but still be able to have the odd biscuit or a chocolate bar without it hindering my progress

I know it may seem like a silly question but i've been making good food choices as much as possible since i came on here and i feel im making progress coupled with exercise however, as a student there those be days i would have some sweet stuff when my friends have house parties or that sort of thing and i'm wondering is this effecting my goal to 'tone' up as such?

Any advice welcome! :)

If you eat that every now and then, and eat them in small amounts then I don't believe it will really affect your dieting.
But remember, the more you skip the bad foods and opt for the good ones, the easier it becomes to resist temptations.

You don't have to be stricter. If you deny yourself something to often you may binge and then hurt yourself in the long run. What I find works for me and a lot of my friends is we don't deny ourselves anything. If i want a piece of chocolate i have it. But i am strict about only having that one piece. If I want cake i have half a slice. I limit the amount i have but not what I eat.

As long as it fits in your calories then why not? of course you can have a treat now and then... but keep it in moderation. Have 1/2 a cup of ice cream and not the whole tub LOL Look at this like a life style change and not a diet... nothing in small amounts is bad for you, its when you over indulge daily that really gets ya.

To fix the "skinny fat" start lifting weights...it's the only thing that is going to dramatically alter body composition. And yes, you are allowed to have treats. My rule is 80-90% nutritionally dense foods...10-20% whatevs...and obviously fit it into your calorie and macro goals.

I'd also recommend getting adequate protein with that weight lifting.

thanks for the advice, currently looking into books for lifting anyway so what you said does make sense.
