More water!

Hi everyone :)
I am pretty happy that i have got my food intake under control , the problem i have is drinking enough water! I start off really well but after a couple of days i am lucky if i manage two to three glasses a day. Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas on what i can do to help me drink more would be appreciated thanks.

I had the exact same problem until some time ago. I've simply never been thirsty & so I just forgot to drink.
I started taking a 1.5 l bottle with me everywhere I went & made it a goal to empty it until the evening.
    Now I still drink 1.5 l a day AT LEAST - I usually drink an additional 1.5 - 2 l on days I work out.
Or drink 1 glass of water with everything you eat.
Just make it a habit & think of ways to remind yourself to drink something!

You could drink other things if you prefer. Your body uses the water from other beverages too. I get my water from plain water, as well as tea (black with milk), black coffee, fruit & herbal teas, milk and nut milks. I eat quite a lot of soup too.

i found buying a reusable water bottle, and i normally get through it 3-5 times most days, just carry it with you and refill it every time you are near a tap, after 2-3 weeks you'll start to crave water... i know that sounds weird but you do. most of the time when people think they are hungry they're actually thirsty and when you brain works out the difference it's easier to know when to drink more

I was like then I decided I would force myself to drink way more !! I bought a jug and I have it with me at work ( got one at home too )

First thing I do in the morning when I get to work is feel it up with water and it seats on my desk. I now drink up to 4-5 of those a day.. It's been at least 6 months now and I am now use to it ( only thing u do go to the toilet often ) it helped with a lot of things ; clearer skin, digestion, weight loss...

Just make it a rule to drink water !! It's up to you to make the decision and stick with it. In teh end it becomes an habit :)

I agree, it doesn't have to be straight water, I also count, tea, coffee, soup (also eat a lot of soup:) Possibly this article can also help. From fruits too, like I also eat at least one orange a day, (tho I don't count it as water, it actually is).

    Below is exerp from:
""Humans need to maintain fluid balance and need to drink water when required, but should also consider fluid in unprocessed fruits and vegetables and juices. There is further evidence that water and a well-balanced diet does far more than water alone," Tsindos wrote.

"Water is important for health; however, the recommendation of eight glasses of pure water per day appears an overestimation of requirements."

Yep, the water doesn't stop working once you add things to it! Even a sugary can of coke will hydrate you, just don't forget to count the calories as well. Caffeine can be a diuretic, but in the amounts that people normally consume in tea and coffee, it doesn't have a strong enough effect to counteract the water you take in at the same time. A good indication of how well hydrated you are is the intensity of the colour of your urine. If it's light in colour, tending towards colourless, then you're plenty hydrated.
