Help! Gradually Increasing calories!

So, i have been losing weight succesfully so far , but i feel like my weight has been hovering, and i have not been losing it as fast. I also want to increase my calorie intake, because i do feel that im eating too little, and im still growing. Im scared that if i increase calories, ill gain back the weight ive lost, but if i keep at it, the weight wont come off...

I was scared to up my calories too, but I just got so fed up with the weight-loss stall that I just did it....and it worked! I'm losing again! Increase your calories slowly and listen to your body.

Gradually add an extra 100-150 calories to your daily intake each day for about every 3-4 days. Keep adding a little more each time until you've reached your desired intake.

    Good luck!

I did similarly... think I added 200-300 more calories (like an extra snack a day) and it shook the scale
  • I dont know how it happened, and i know it was really bad but i was only eating like 800 calories a day. Im really afraid im going to permanantely hurt my body, so i want to start eating healthier, and yes i work out for about 30 minutes a day for about 4-5 days a week

I'm doing the same, upped it 100 calories yesterday. Reading this board has convinced me it's in my best long-term interest and so I'm giving it a try. But I'm scared too, afraid I'll gain (fingers crossed with you!).

I think you just diagnosed the main problem yourself. Follow MFP recommendations and you'll lose in a healthy way, feel great, and look great. Yes, you will permanently hurt your body at 800 cals a day. I do hope you were eating back workout calories.

If it helps, I'm 5'1" 109lb and eat on average 1800 cals to maintain my weight and 1500 to lose weight.
