You know you're about the 8th person to post this video on this site?

I hope most women don't need Dove or a forensic artist to come in and give there fragile little female egos a pat on the back.

I didn't know that, or I wouldn't have posted it.

Don't get me wrong it's a touching video. I was moved by it when I first saw it as well. I just think the underlying tone is suggesting that women are these insecure little messes and need Dove to come in and tell them they're beautiful.

My frustration was not towards you OP it was towards the attention video seems to be getting.

My apologies if I came off abrupt or rude.

I've always maintained that this world would be a much better place if everyone had a higher opinion of themselves.

Wait, wait, I got that wrong.

If i went and did that, at the end the guy would have to kindly tell me: You know, you're not actually 5'10'', and your hair does not look exactly like a lion's mane, and your eyes are really brown, those gold and green speckles are not all that visible. And your arms don't look like Hulk's yet, and your lips are not Angelina Jolie-like.
I'd rather stick to the mirror.

Meh... I couldn't watch it even if I wanted to... but I can guess what it is and again, meh, I have seen it a billion times (ok that's a bit exaggerated but it feels like that many) on my newsfeed already.

    Thanks though.

BTW: in the last 10 years, I have become mostly comfortable with my body and the only problem I have (and it's mostly for health reasons more than aesthetic reasons) is the fat that I've got hanging about, otherwise, I know I am attractive... and I don't mean that in a narcessitic way. I just don't have major body dismorphia problems.

really not seeing what the big deal is the pictures looked extremely similar to me, and the music was waay to sentimental

i have the opposite, if you want to call it an issue, i still see myself as this healthy, muscular girl around size 12/14,
so when i get back to that, there's not much mental adjusting to do.

    Thanks for posting.

It's a wonderful experiment and if it makes just a few people feel differently about themselves and how others perceive them, then it has done a great job.

So many adverts/commercials now are focused around worshipping unachievable and heavily edited good looks and seemingly 'perfect' bodies, we should be celebrating ideas like this not berating them.

None taken; I only just saw it today and thought it might help someone, or give them a new perception.

To me the fact that dove made it, has little effect on it's message. That is like saying, you need Nike shoes and Gatorade to be athletic[do to the ads of runners and other athletes using their products].

Like I said, if I knew it was posted before....

Very interesting video; I'd not seen that before and found it an interesting experiment in human nature. We know, through research, that young girls typically have body insecurity issues, but I'd not thought about it in terms of adults. Thx!
