So what's the best WAY to WEIGH yourself....

My weigh-in day is Sunday. Its my first official since starting MFP. I actually plan to log it in good or bad.
But what is the best way to do?

1.) First then in the morning as soon as I get out of bed.
2.) In the morning after I've milled around a bit and allowed my body to wake up.
3.) In the evening

I'm not sure when and I want to do it right and not cheat at the numbers. I'm a former WW member so I know about scale manipulation. So what's the right consistent way to do it.

It's really up to you, just make sure you do it at the same time every time.

I will say that in the morning, after using the bathroom, will have the least amount of variables. If you weigh in at night, then anything you have had to eat / drink is going to affect your weight.

It doesn't really matter when or how you weigh yourself. It just matters that you do it the same way every time. If you weigh first thing in the morning of course your weight will be at its lowest. But you will still show the same amount of loss if you compare evening weights. It's just going to be a little higher on the scale than the morning weight.

Thanks, everyone! I will weigh myself in the morning. I've got to buy measuring tape. I think that may help with my motivatin especially when the scale slows down but the inches start to come off. :)
  • I been doing my weight -in on Wednesday Mornings , and I always make sure I am clear in my system as to going to the bathroom and so on. I always measure myself right after I weight myself every week to see if I am changing. The scale can be your enemy in numbers, because it can go up and down. It ends to making you feel good or bad, but sometimes it could be muscle gain and everything when you use a scale only. :)
It's always exciting to see my new number so I know I am doing good or bad, and then I know that I am on the right track or need to pick it up somewhere.

Myself, I'm weighing in on Sunday mornings after I wake up and use the toilet. I also measure after that. I was a week in my first measurement, so I don't have a veeery first set of numbers, but from then on I'll hopefully be able to see improvement there in not on the scale itself.
