Omega 3 Gelcaps Question

I have a question about taking Omega 3 gelcaps. It's a little gross and I apologize in advance. I take 3 caplets a day with my breakfast. I am noticing that when I burp afterwards, I get a fishy or mineral-y taste in my mouth. Is this from the Omega 3? Is there a way I can avoid this?

Thanks for your help.

I used to work for a vitamin company and we had that problem with our caps so we made a new variety that had orange oil in them as well to help with it. I am not sure if more water would help, maybe adding lemon to the water would.

I take the Orange Essence Omega 3's from the Andrew Lessman line of products on HSN.com. If you do burp it is like you had a glass of orange juice.

I take the MEGA RED omega 3 pills, It is a small pill and you only take one pill in lieu of 3.
I got it at the pharmacy. It costs a little more BUT I like to be able to fill my pill box for the week and it doesn't take much room.
    I never have an aftertaste.

I buy "Nature's Bounty" brand... it says "no fish burps" on the bottle... and I have yet to have one (and I had them BAD before).

I've also read on MFP a lot of people recommend keeping them in the freezer and that stops it also (but never tried it, my freezer is crazy looking as it is  ).

I use Spring Valley and have never noticed a fishy burp.

I keep my caps in the freezer. I've never had that problem since freezing them. It really works!

I am going to start taking Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplements, 1200 mg 2x a day, per my Doctor. What should I look for? Is there anything I should look for as far as EPA and DHA? Or should I just buy whatever is on sale? Thanks.
