Good morning from London

Joined very recently, just getting back into the gym and cycling to work, have been at it about 8 weeks and have lost about a stone which I'm pleased about.

Jumping on my bike this morning as it's bright blue skies this morning (we've not had many for quite a while!) and going for a ride down to Greenwich.

Anyway just popping on to say hello :)

Philip

You've done an amazing job so far! Congrats and good luck with your journey (weight loss and Greenwich ride lol) :flowerforyou:

Welcome. NYC is rolling out a bike share program and I've signed up. I'd hoped to be able to cycle from my home, but there are no stations in my neighborhood. Still, I hope it'll be fun when it commences next month. Need to buy a helmet.

    Hello and good morning!

I did the London bikeathon last year 52 miles (+10 to get there) needless to say it was on my mountain bike and we have not made friends since! However it was for an amazing cause and had a right laugh during and after it even if my bottom had not forgiven the seat!

Have a great ride I'm going to go for a run!!

I live on the Surrey Quays/Deptford border so it's just a walk for me to Greenwich! Have a great time [and if you can, get some of the Thai food from the market, it's incredible].

I misread that and thought it said 70 mile walk at first haha. Was gonna say jesus that is a major walk!! lol. But anyway, majorly jealous that a) you are in the north of Scotland and b) that you can get your exercise walking along the beach :grumble:  You lucky lucky person!!

Good morning from sunny Notttingham. Born in Catford, and spent many a happy time performing at Greenwich theatre, but wouldn't swap it for the lovely Peak District on my doorstep. The sun really lifts the spirits, doesn't it! Happy cycling, Jan :0)

It's a beautiful morning here in east London, hopefully the weather lasts longer than the previous good brief spells. I've just completed my first 5km at a local parkrun.

It certainly does look like a beautiful day! Think I may be sitting out on the balcony today (can't go out I have a Uni paper to finish - typical!).

Good morning from central London :)

    welcome mate
  • Wow thank you for such a great welcome! Nice to see so many motivated people. I'm inspired!

I'm cycling mainly to commute to work, its quite an easy ride and I enjoy it. I get a bit stressed having to get changed etc every morning. All I seem to be doing is laundry!

Its the London marathon today I think I might go down and cheer everyone on. I know there's agree some runners who also ran the Boston Marathon so they deserve an extra cheer!

Really hope you've all had a fantastic weekend. :)

It can be a slippery slope; I started cycling my commute, and now ride miles and miles in my free time.

    Welcome.
