Does *when* I eat matter?

Options
I was pregnant and/or nursing for 9.5 yrs and so I had to eat like a Hobbit which included a midnight and 3 am meal. I had a really hard time maintaining my weight even eating that much... Well now I'm only feeding myself and still have midnight hunger. I usually have excess calories to eat anyways so does it matter if that's right before bed?

No, when you eat doesn't usually matter.

I always save some calories for right before bed. It helps me sleep better.

Yeah I don't need meals before bed anymore but 80-150 calories range (nuts or weekend beer ;)). I have a really hard time eating within a couple hrs of waking so it keeps me from feeling icky in the morning. Thanks all I super appreciate it!

No, time of day does not matter. I stay up late on friday nights. It's midnight and I haven't eaten dinner yet....lol.

I love eating the majority of my calories at night.... I know I enjoy eating at night, so I save most of my calories for night time! Granted, I usually don't go to sleep until 2-3 am. However, during this whole process of losing weight I have eaten before bed consistently with seemingly no negative effects.

As long as the 'when' isn't 'when I'm lowering a bucket of fried chicken into my mouth' then, no.

I know it shouldn't..but I think it contributed to my weight gain. I work night shifts and eat at 11pm couple nights a week. It makes me bloated the next day and more likely to overeat.
