Looking for help getting motivated

I have been trying to lose 10 lbs for about two years now. I seem to be stuck at my current weight and I really need to try something new.

This is the first time I have used this community tab and I think what I need is some people to help get me motivated and exchange some support.

Friend me if you're interested in helping me out and I'd be more than happy to return the favor.

Thanks.

Hiya! Let us know exactly what you're currently doing (ie. daily caloric intake, exercise, etc.) and I'm sure folks will have some suggestions to help you bust out of your rut!
  • I have been pretty consistent with daily exercise.
My problem is over eating. I try to take in about 1200-1300 calories a day, but by the end of the day I start losing control and I always end up at about 2000 calories. I have no idea how to stop myself.

I feel like I am hungry all the time!!
  • Advice that helped me;

First thing in the morning, drink a glass of water before any other consumption.
Breakfast be the biggest meal! Plenty of protein, fresh fruits. Couple hours later, handfull of almonds, or yogurt with granola, something with protein. Avoid sugary things that just boost then crash. Lunch can been a hearty sandwich with soup or fruit or fresh veggies. next couple hours, granola bar or jerky or cottage cheese! Fresh produce is a great fall back for snacking needs. Drink lots of water!!!!!!

I can relate to the hunger pains by night time when you think you're hungry! May just be bored, but late night cravings I can curve with a hot cup of green tea sweetened with a little honey, or peanut butter on celery. Watermelon is delicious and guilty free! Can never go wrong with eating lots of broccoli or spinach. But I was also told that if I feel hungry, to drink a big glass of water and wait 20mins. Sometimes it helps but doesnt help me much heh. My fall backs are a bowl of Special K cereal red berries, or 1/2cup of cottage cheese with fruit or on its own.

I hope some of this helps, just know you're not alone!

Oh another thing, my eldest daughter is type 1 diabetic so we have to look closely at everything we eat any way, but its all about carb counting compared to her insulin. Maybe look into some diabetic recipes for some guilt free yums! Diabetic Connect on Facebook has some great recipes and it doesnt stretch the waist band.

I am here to find support and give it too. I will friend request you.
I can relate exercising is easy for me to get done. The hardest part is the eating and portion control.
Just know that it takes baby steps to change the eating habits we have grown up with. Start with measuring your food out with
a measuring cup, and always making sure you have protein like another person said on here is really helpful for keeping you fuller longer. Hope this helps.
  • It takes 3500 calories BURNED to lose 1lb. for example:
    if you ate 2800 cal a day x7days = 19600 calories consumed a week
    if you burned 3200 cal a day x 7days = 22,400 calories burned a week
22,400 -19600=2,800 net burned for the week it's not quite a lb lost but it's .8 lost

How do you know what you burn a day? look up BMR and enter your body data. I know all the pills and stuff the world promotes sound great, none of them work, they only increase the amounts of calories burned a day by small amounts and supress your appetite, but if you don't know your basic calorie intake or your basic burn a day, nothing can help you manage the outcome. I explain this to say that I have lost 45lbs in 6 months and I work out roughly twice a week, but walk 3 miles 3 days a week in the summer............hope this helps.................
