I agree, knowing I'm not alone on the struggle is motivating. I am starting today at my heaviest weight, 198lbs at 5'6.0

I am almost 5'4". I started around 207 and now I weigh 127. My journey was a long 5 year journey of oppsies and struggles. I started out by working out to Turbo Jam for a couple years. When Zumba came out I started doing it twice a week and eating 1500 calories which I followed for 2 years. Back in July I changed down to 1200 calories a week and worked out to Zumba and Turbo Jam 4 days a week. As my stamina built I went to eating 1350 calories and working out to Zumba and Turbo Jam 5 days a week. On the days I didn't workout I ate 1100 calories (under dr's monitoring).
Now I am doing TurboFire and eating 1406 calories. The days I don't workout I eat 1206 calories. I found that the majorit of losing weight is eating health though.

Hi, I am 5'3" I started out at 184lbs I now weigh 125lbs. I lost 59lbs. excerising everyday and logging everything I ate. I started out walking then moved onto Zumba. Zumba burns alot of calories and it's fun. It doesn't feel like excerise. You dance and sweat and actually have fun. The other thing that really helped me is portion control. I measure and weigh out my food before I eat it. That way I am sure not to over do it. My portions were way out of control before I started MFP. Good Luck I know you can do it!! Just focus on one meal or one snack at a time and before you know it you will be at your goal weight.0

I started at exactly the same stats! I was 198 and now I'm 174. I am 5'4" as well! i started in February and lost 20lbs by June but put about 11lbs back on (massive life upheaval, not time to focus). I have been at it again since September and am now down 24lbs from my original but about 14lbs since then. My progress is slow and steady but it fits my life and is sustainable.0

i started at 198 and i'm 5'5" i've lost about 30-32 lbs (i fluctuate back and forth 2lbs depending on the day) i had before pics up, but deleted them =/ i need to put them back up. i have some very recent ones up of me. i lost 10-15 lbs very fast because i was doing insanity and mfp had started me at 1200 cals a day! it was very hard and a HUGE change for me! i felt very disciplined and was extremely motivated to get that weight off asap. i lost over 10lbs in a month then after the first month of insanity, my knees were killing and i couldn't do the second month i started walking a lot and jogging, then i started doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred, i lost weight but not as fast. with where i'm at now, i haven't lost weight in a few weeks =/ i need to change up my routine again and i'm wanting to start lifting more to get good muscle tone going! i'm upping my protein and lowering my carbs a bit. i wish you luck on your journey! enjoy it though! don't be negative if you don't lose, you won't help yourself out any. just know, that if you keep up all your hard work you will definitely get there eventually. it doesn't happen over night. i told myself in the beginning "man, i can't wait until i lose 20 lbs!" then, when i lost the 20 lbs, my body wasn't what i was hoping it to be. it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. i'm still working everyday. and it requires so much patience. the hard part is staying positive throughout it all. and not getting so bitter or jealous when i see a skinny little girl walk by. i have to remind myself how far i've come! hope this helps hun!0

I am 5'4 and started at 25, now at 201. I am doing Zumba at home DVD's for exercise, both cardio and toning 5-6 days a week. I set my weight loss at 1 pound a week, and go with the calories MFP gives me. I also eat back 1/2 to 2/3 of my exercise calories on days that I exercise, but otherwise try to stay under my calories for the day. Don't always succeed but continue to try. I measure everything I eat, and I log it all, good bad or otherwise. I also try to drink at least 6 glasses of water a day, but have problems with that since I don't care for it. I am 51 and have still lost 24 pounds since August. i have severe osteoarthritis, diabetes, fibromyalgia and blood pressure problems but I still do what I need to do daily, even when I am hurting. Hope this helps a little. May have been rambling.0

5'5" started around 200 (not sure the exact number). I lost most of my weight before mfp by eating healthy, working with a trainer, and running. I joined mfp last year to help get the last few pounds off. Got down to 135 over the summer, but I've been fluctuating 138-141 over the past few months. Trying to get back to 135. Pictures are on my profile and my diary is open. I run, lift weights, and in the spring/summer do triathlons. I don't follow any specific diet, just try to keep it healthy and keep an eye on the carbs and the protein. The key is consistency. I find when I start giving myself a little too much flexibility, it starts to snowball and that is when the weight creeps up again.0
