Sugar

I have very high cholesterol and about 60 lbs overweight. I am working with a physician but it will be 4 weeks before I see her again. Claims refined sugar causes the high cholesterol which makes sesne but I've been told to give up sugar less than 20 grams per day and increase the fiber to 30 gm which is no problem. Only been on a few weeks but I want this as a lifetime change and I love fruits but the simple things like oranges/apples/watermelon I have to cut the serving sizes - I luv fruit. Been told to give up anything white such as corn, beets, potatoes, rice, french fries (which is understandable) as they will store as excess sugar and increase the cholesterol.
My question is refined sugar considered a product in fruits - is refined sugar chemically manufactured?

Sugar in fruits is not refined or chemically manufactured. It's naturally-occurring sugar- but it is still sugar. Check out this link for which fruits are low in sugar and which ones are high in sugar:
