How to work out calories in a meal (For those who don't know

Options
Okay, so when I joined the site, and wanted to add my foods to the database... the food didn't have the calorie amount on the packaging.

So after searching for a long time online, I found a site that explained it. So, I'm posting this easy method here for those of you who don't know.

All you need is the amount of Carbs, Protein, and Fat in your serving. Then, here's what you do:

I'm gonna use the info of a small packet of instant noodles:
Carbs: 35
Protien: 7
Fat: 2

1.) Count Carbs and Protien together, and multiply by 4:
example:
35 + 7 = 42
42 x 4 = 168

2.) Multiply Fat with 9:
example: 2 x 9 = 18

3.) Count the answers of step 1 and 2 together:
example: 168 + 18 = 186 (That's your amount of calories)

Simple enough!

Note: I tested this with foods that I had the total amount of calories of... some of them works out to exactly the amount of calories on the pack... others differ a bit... but not much, this is close enough to what you need.
