Water or Coke

Very interesting indeed! Water or Coke? We all know that water is important but I’ve never seen it written down like this before.

WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 30%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

And now for the properties of COKE

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

Soda isn't good for you. There's no reason to fabricate reasons why it's not good for you. The mere fact that people shouldn't be ingesting so many calories from what they drink should be enough.

As for diet soda, there's been research that shows that sweetness contributes to hunger. Plus drinking diet soda doesn't contribute to weight loss since people often replace the calories in soda with other food calories, because they think it's ok since they drank diet soda.

But just as with any food, in moderation it won't kill you. I have a soda maybe on average once every month or two, and don't feel at all guilty about it if it fits into my calories.

I actually prefer the Coke Zero.... but then I'm turning into a Pepsi Max fan. It's about 2 calories per drink..... I think it's going to fit into my count.

I just about stopped drinking soda altogether. I have the very occasional (like once a month) diet ginger ale.

    it's quite simple.
When I want water, I have water. Probably about two gallons a day.
When I want a coke zero I have one, about 12 oz a day.

Yes, I go to the bathroom a lot.

Topo Chico Mineral water , available in glass bottles at WalMart...at least all the Walmarts in heavily latino Southern California. I love this stuff. When I'm feeling frisky, I add some lime slices. I pack two bottles in my lunch. I go through 20/24 a week.

3 1/2 ago I was 6 cans of diet coke a day girl until I got informed just how bad diet coke was so i change
to 1 normal coke can a day girl, know it was still bad until about 6 months ago when I stopped, might have a sip once a month

    some quote that help me

If you did have a million-dollar racehorse, would you let him stay up half the night drinking coffee and booze, smoking cigarettes and eating junk food?" Next question: "Would you treat a 10-dollar dog or a 5-dollar cat that way? What about a billion-dollar body?"

We can reverse years of damage to our bodies by deciding to raise our standards for ourselves, then living differently. Old wounds heal, injuries repair, and the whole system improves with just a few changes in what we put into our bodies and how we move them.

so my vote is................ WATER all the way

    :drinker:

ETA: a can of Coke is 99% water. it's not some magical liquid. its basically carbonated water with artificial coloring and flavoring added to it

Question: how does the racehorse light the cigarettes? I would think the hooves would get in the way.

Yeah, there are so many logistical problems with that. What kind of horse drinks coffee and booze? Not a horse I'd back, that's for sure!

I think the horse would be the one brought into custody, you'd just be the passenger.

I had a Coke, size huge with ice, three years ago when I had the flu. It was fabulous.

I drink coffee and a little water.

    I'm not an "or" person.

Once you choose black or white you don't acknowledge gray: you've given up your sense of moderation.

Ok, now here's the million dollar question for the million dollar drunken racehorse: would it go to a human jail, or is there a special horse jail? Or could the horse buy it's way out of jail like million dollar humans who drink coffee, booze, and smoke cigarettes?

I rarely drink soda and when I do I can never finish it. It just tastes so weird to me now and I notice instantly how it makes me crave other junk. I love my water now. If I want some soda I drink some.

Just for some perspective, the pH of gastric acid is 1.35 to 3.5, so Coke is perfectly at home when it gets to your stomach.

Meh, as long as it's not an all or nothing deal, I think you won't die from the occasional coke.

I really enjoy Coke or Cherry Coke.. but it has to come from a fountain machine. For some odd reason it tastes different, and I enjoy it when ever I do get one.

I recently got into Pepsi Next.. and will drink one can a day with my lunch mainly. The rest of the time I drink water.
  • I only don't drink soda because I don't particularly like it, and didn't even realize that I never really liked it until I decided to just stop drinking it about 7 years ago. Now it's just gross to me, but I don't care if someone else drinks it. I generally only ever drink water, coffee, and the occasional tea or unsweetened almond milk.
