why is it when you do weight training no cals are showed as being burned off ?? on exercise list :smile:

    You can add weight lifting as a cardio exercise, the strength training bit is just to see your improvements over time afaik

    This indeed correct. What most heavy lifters do is just adjust total daily calorie intake and don't bother with trying to calculate workout totals. If the scale is going in the direction they want in the timeframe they want, then all is well.

    then only rule is the more you lift and the more muscle groups doing the movement, the more calories you're burning. But there is no way to effectively measure exactly what that burn might be. Things like heartrate have zero bearing on this for example.

    thanks ill have a look @ trying to add cals when I hit the weights :wink:

    just had a look & you can add weight lifting in cardio so it does count might not be the right a mount of cals burn but its something ;-)
  • I add weights as a cardio circuit training if you are lifting moderate to heavy: you will probably burn more if you are a heavy lifter, but I figure its good to have a calorie sink anyways to adjust for the extra appetite generated ;)
