Muscle versus weightI

I have been using weights and weight exercise machine. I have very flabby arms, And want to get them down. My Son says I well only build muscle not get them smaller.Help!!

    Nonsense. You will build some muscle, but you will also be burning calories. Burning calories will help reduce the 'flabbiness' of the arms. Unless you are also taking steroids, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that muscle arm will be anywhere near as large as flabby arm.

    you need to lose fat. arm exercises do not burn fat. a caloric deficit burns fat. And exercise helps make a caloric deficit. the more muscle groups and heavier weights you use, the bigger calorie burn and easier caloric deficit. Arm exercises are small muscle groups and low caloric burn.

    thus the best way to 'tone' arms is to NOT do any arm exercises, and focus on diet and compound exercises instead.
