Dove Campaign

OK, who LOVES the Dove Campaign to gain confidence in women :) Obsessed... it works for me :) I will pretty much only buy Dove. PERIOD.

    I think the idea behind the ad is very appealing - embrace the beauty that you have, don't be so down on yourself etc.

    What I noticed, however, is the huge lack of diversity in the participants and the reinforcement of dominant stereotypes of beauty.

    Do we all have to be white, blonde, blue eyed and thin to be beautiful? I sincerely hope not because I fulfill only one of those criteria.

    i wonder if dove chose the women specifically, or if perhaps women who applied and were randomly chosen were statistically more likely to be white, older, blue eyed, etc. regardless i agree, diversity would have been nice!

    I enjoyed the core components of the ad and agree that we(women) often are much harder on ourselves that anyone else. We just need to stop and appreciate who we ARE. That always shines through.

    LOVE Dove Winter Care...not sure what I will do once I run out since winter is over!
