Polar FT 7 - Battery Replacement

Has anyone ever replaced the battery on the Polar FT 7 HRM Watch? Of course some are saying send back to the service center $$$$. What did you do?

I have had my watch for 3 years now and I have gone to walmart and bought new batteries and replaced mine my self. I have read on here that others have said to do both strap and watch at same time instead of as needed seperately. You have to open the backs up first to get the correct battery numbers sice the are different batteries. Mostly pretty easy , sometimes it takes a few tries to get cover on correctly, but no problems.
  • I'm so glad you posted this! My battery is dying on mine too and I don't want to be without it.

Earlier models required you send the battery in to have it changed, I've changed my FT 7 batteries several times. It's very simple to do, use a quarter...it fits the slot like a glove!!

I took mine to a battery store (Batteries Plus here). They took care of it for me - about $5 for the chest strap transmitter, $12 for the watch.

You can replace the batteries yourself not like the early models, some you had to send away.
