Nope, just a new fad.....0

New Age nonsense. There is no evidence it does anything.0

Fracking?0

I just read what it is ... kind of sounds gross. Not sure I could swish oil in my mouth for 15 minutes.0

Mouth? Swishing?
I'm thinking of something entirely different.0 -

I tried it twice. Really didn't care for the feeling of the oil in my mouth.
I know some people swear by it but I just can't stand it.0 -
I have done it with coconut oil, the flavour of the oil is nice so its ok, dont think I would enjoy olive oil or any other kind in my mouth for 15-20 mins. Anyways I did not notice any thing other then my teeth did get whitened0

Well, apparently when you're done swishing it around it's milky and white...0 -
Kinda scared to ask...but what is oil pulling?0

"If alternative medicine was proven to work, then why isn`t it called medicine?"0

I'm with you. This isn't what I thought it was going to be about AT ALL.0 -

Just like if you were making, oh, I don't know - mayonnaise? Swish it around long enough with a whisk or blender and it turns white - aka emulsification. I guess when that happens it means that impurities have been leeched from the bowl?0 -

Right there with you. As soon as I finally looked it up (I've seen it mentioned here or there before, but was never curious) my first thought was "that must be gross..."0 -
Well, if it didn't remove the impurities from my bowel, it would certainly remove the contents of my stomach.

go to you tube and check out the tutorials.
there is usually something of substance
embedded in wacky trends, especially if
there are derived from old world remedies.0 -
Never tried it. This is the first I have heard of it. Sounds weird0
-
Totally works. Problem is, most people forget to do it by the light of a full moon after burying a chicken heart under a willow tree...cause, you know, you have to do the whole thing.0
-
That's a boatload of time I could be spending doing other things. Like flossing and thoroughly brushing. I KNOW flossing and brushing's benefits. The benefits of oil pulling as studied have been pretty modest for the amounts of time and gross-out factor required.0
