Can you eat like this the rest of your life? No you probably wont so when you eat more then you will gain it back plus more because you are messing up your metabolism by eating too little. You are not eating enough for your organs to function normal. You are only hurting yourself! EAT!!!!

You're probably bruising from anemia from your poor nutrition. It's great that you recognize that you are not eating healthy. But to change it you may need some help. Make a doctor's appointment or go see the nurse at school.

You definitely need to talk to a counselor and a doctor. They will help you deal with the emotional/psychological reasons that you are undereating, and they will help you with correct nutrition.

You are starving yourself. My best friend growing up was anorexic, and you sound just like her eating habits. She made herself miserable and unhealthy. Please get help. This will mess up your body later if you don't do something about it soon.

It's OK to ask for help when you need it. If you do, everything will be fine :)

You NEED to change your diet, and you CAN. I have the same issue if I don't watch myself, I get to where I'm only eating one time a day and that's only because I get low blood sugar. Someone on my list told me to set alarms, and it helps. You'll get sick the first couple days/a week or two in while you're eating more, but it'll help in the long run. Try a smoothie or shake for breakfast, something small like a nutrigrain bar between that and lunch. Then try something like a chicken salad for lunch, then another small snack between lunch and dinner, and a big-ish dinner. It WILL be hard, but it's better than being hospitalized from malnutrition, which is what will happen if you keep going the way you are.

The key in the beginning is to keep everything LIGHT, no big meals or you'll get really sick. But you need to eat before your body fails on you.

If you started out obese, read this. It talks about deaths from cardiac arrest in people on VLCDs.

If you started out at close to healthy weight, read this. It talks about mental illness (including self-mutilation) in people on VLCDs, as well as metabolic slow-down.

If you're going to argue and fight with people you asked for help from, go talk to your doctor. He/she will tell you the exact same thing we did.

There's a healthy way to lose weight, and it isn't what you're doing. Go here and follow the instructions, and you'll lose fat instead of sacrificing your muscle.

    Wrong darling.

The way you are doing it is turning into an eating disorder. Its negatively affecting your thoughts and making you afraid to eat. You need to have a healthy relationship with food and continue that in order to lose weight and maintain it. Trust me, you do not want an eating disorder and developing one at such a young age and not getting help to get rid of it can change your life in a negative way. :(

Please see your school nurse or counselor. Tell them your parents/doctor have been telling you to lose weight but its caused you to turn to starvation etc. You can lose weight by not starving yourself.. trust me.

They would not want to do this. If you want to walk across that stage happy and healthy, you should please get some help. Talk to a counselor, doctor, or trusted adult. Prolonged malnutrition can have serious health effects, and this kind of diet ultimately leads to putting the weightback on, because you can't keep it up. You need to take care of yourself.

No. If you are overweight, losing weight is good, but not by starving yourself. You are setting yourself up for anorexia, bulimia or years of yo-yo dieting. Most doctors will tell you that those things are worse for your health than being overweight.
Your body is already starting to have problems -- the bruising. Poor nutrition will cause that, hair falling out, acne, brittle nails and then if continued, it will cause organ damage, eventually organ failure and in extreme cases, it can kill you.

Eating 900 calories a day -- and only one calorie dense, but nutrition light meal -- is extreme and extremely bad for you.

You NEED to GET HELP NOW. Real help, not a bunch of opinions on an Internet site.

The doctor recommended losing weight,NOT barely eating 900 calories a day.
Losing weight is NOT worth risking the HEALTH of your body.
Eat more, eat nutritious and look at the bigger picture, please.

I can't tell if this post is serious or not. If this is true, you need help, like the others have said. 900 calories per day is no way to live healthy. Being skinny sounds nice, but you can still be skinny and unhealthy. You should eat more, exercise and aim for a healthy weight/body fat percentage (18-25%, I believe).

You are definitely starving yourself, and losing 20lbs in 2 months is unhealthy. A healthy weight loss goal is 1 pound/week, which comes out to about 8 pounds in 2 months.

By eating so little you are not getting enough protein, fat, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids, which is why you're bruising easily and feeling tired. Your body and mind still have several years of growth to undergo, if you starve yourself now you will do permanent damage.

Your goal, especially at your age, shouldn't be a starvation diet. Your goal needs to be learning how to eat healthy (ie not pizza and cheese bread!), and incorporating at least some moderate exercise into your routine. There've been numerous studies lately showing that old people who exercise are much healthier in body and mind than old people who don't exercise. You're young so that's a very long time away, but the longer you wait to develop a healthy routine the harder it will be to do it. You don't want to be like me, 32 and just getting into a sustainable exercise routine.

Now for diet... well I don't have any site to give you a link to or any book to recommend. But the more fresh food you eat the better, the less processed food and fast food the better. Don't shy away from fat, fat is necessary and good for you, and dietary fat does not turn into fat on the body (unless you massively overeat). Same with cholesterol, as long as you have healthy levels. I'm not a fan of cutting whole swaths of food groups out of your diet, but I will tell you that carbs take the least amount of energy to digest, while fats and proteins take up a lot more energy to break down into basic molecules for your body to use. I eat carbs, I eat sweets... I just keep it down to a moderate amount.

Basically what you should do, if you can, is go see your doctor and ask for a referral to a nutritionist. Ask them for an eating plan which you can sustain (way more than 900 calories/day!) for the rest of your life. If you can't do that, then look online for sites about "clean eating." I hate the term... but the philosophy is to eat non processed food - lean meats, veggies, fruits, complex carbs.

    Good luck.

And don't be embarrassed because the people in this thread are correcting you. You asked for help, you asked for answers. Every response here is correct. You have no idea what you are doing to yourself by trying to justify what you're doing. Please take these responses to heart, for the sake of your family and friends, if not yourself.

I'm sad that you edited your original post. Don't be ashamed. You're only human and this could be a very good learning experience. Who knows, maybe some other person was thinking of typing the exact same thing as you. I hope your message (and the great answers that the community is providing) will help you and anyone else in a similar situation. Feel free to add me even though I'm not 17. :flowerforyou:
