So weak....

Honestly I am so embarrassed about this....I am 24 and I can't even curl a 20 lb dumbbell with 2 hands! I can't do pushups unless they are against a wall, I don't even have biceps when I flex! My lower body strength is better than my upper body but I am legit disappointed in myself as a human being right now for having almost no muscle. Anybody out there have any strength and muscle building tips?? I am not looking to be a figure competitor or anything just visibly strong.

Weight train regularly and start light and work your way up in weight as you are able

just keep doing what you're doing and you'll get stronger.

do the pushups against the wall and gradually work your way down to the floor.

no one starts off able to lift 250 pounds, that's why its called strength TRAINING

Just keep trying. I couldn't even do 1 pushup when I started out almost 2 years ago, but can do 30 now. It takes time, patience, and dedication.

strength begins and ends with what you put into your mouth.

eat right first with the proper macros most importantly protein

    followed by strength training

then you will see you strength increase

At one point everyone was a beginner. No one has woken up one day and been elite.

I second what everyone else has said. It takes some hard work and dedication.

I agree with everyone else. You just need to start lifting. Even if you can only lift lighter weight compared to other people, it's still a start. Heavy lifting is what's heavy for you. You will find that your body will start to look stronger as well as being stronger . Look at my arms in my pic. My best for bicep curls are 8 kg or 17.6 pounds for 5. Not that bicep curls are the be all and end all of lifting. I can however lift heavy boxes, heavier tubs of bread crumbs at work ( no idea, but they are heavy) . I can carry my kids arounds and am all round more useful from doing weights. About 12 months ago I could barely lift 1kg with a shoulder raise. So I was pretty weak.

Would you say your goals are- to look stronger and be generally stronger? Follow the suggestions of the lifters on here and it will happen :)
