Ok, so I have been at this for a long time! I just recently purchased body media and currently sinc to my fitnesspal. My goals are realistic and I have yet to see results. I gained almost 10 during my school semester and would love to lose 15. I am at 1200 calories and work out an hr a day. I try to stay within 1200 calories and have a deficit of 1000 according to body media. my fitness pal says after each entry I should be at a certain weight by a certain time. Body media tells me great job keeping the deficit. If I continue with a 1000 cal deficit I could lose up to 2lbs a week. I am doing everything possible and not losing a thing! Am I eating anough?? should I go to a 500 cal deficit?? Do I eat half the calories I burn after working out?? Really, How much more do I need to eat after working out and lose 1-2 lbs a week?

thanks
Kristin

    Whats your current weight?

Depending on what type of exercise you are doing, you are probably gaining muscle. But 1200 calories then exercising an hour your probably not eating enough. I would eat back some of your exercise calories. If you are burning 400/hr maybe eat back 200 and try to eat protein. Also for women depending on the time of month we can retain up to 5lbs of water weight so keep that in mind as well. Just keep pushing on.. i know it frustrating when you are doing everything right and the scale doesn't budge... maybe focus more on how your clothes are fitting.

I currently weigh around 160....I hate to keep looking at the scale cause then I get angry because of the work I am doing as far as working on my fitness and keeping track of calories and body media. My clothes are actually tighter in the legs since I have been running. I don't want that. At the end of the day, body media will say that I have averaged a 1000 cal deficit with the calories I ate and burned throughout the day. myfitness pal will have about 4-500 cal left over but I just don't think I can eat that much lol! I am comfortable staying around 1300 on a good workout day. I just wish I could see results.

You won't be building muscle on that defecit. 1200 is the minum healthy weight, burn off extra then you should be eating back or making sure you eat them over the rest of the week. If you do not have a lot to lose you might find that you cannot lose 2 pounds a week. Does your maintainence calories allow for a 1000 cal a day defecit without going under 1200? the less you have to lose the longer it takes. I personally go gor eating back half my exercise cals but I don't have big cal burns, just from strength training mostly which is hard to determine.

You should Prolly use a calorie calculator and calculate your bmr and at least eat at that. My bmr for 160 lbs was higher then 1200 calls. One i upped my calories i started losing weight.

I just go by what MFP told me to do. Body media gives me an extra 238 calories just from sleeping and MFP will say that my new intake is now 1438....should I stick with that? that would be upping to 1438. I was also think about eating more and having a 500 calorie deficit rather than 1000 cal deficit. According to body media, I average 2500 calorie burn a day. Thats including my workouts.

So I just did my TDEE which I think this is what body media armband does for me, says i should eat 1700 calories to lose weight. I average 2300 cal burn a day including my workouts and I subtracted 25%....that is what it gave me. I will up my calories from 1200 and see what happens.

I definitely noticed a change once I started eating more. I eat my exercise calories back. I usually eat around 1400 net each day. Good luck! :)
