Im very fusturated at this point, I havnt lost anything for two weeks! I've lost 28lbs so far using mfp. Im doing everthing right. Keeping my calories in check. No processed foods, lots of water and excerise. The only I can put my finger on is that I was drinking decaf coffee until two weeks ago because I ran out and start using regular cofffee.Im a lover of my cup of joe but I wonder if the caffine is killing me. I have been experiencing bloating. Now keep in mind I am drinking plenty of my water. Maybe muscle gain? Maybe for this week only! The week before last I had a really bad cold so I didnt excerise but still watched what I ate and this week I have been putting more into it. I even been eating back some of my excerise calories. Help please!

sodium levels are in balance, keeping them at least 1700 to 2000. I been drinking caffinated coffee about 5 times a day and tea at least two times a day.. Is there sodium in coffee?

I read a thing that said coffee can put weight on as the high levels of caffiene affect your metabolism causing it to slow down. It was written in a book called the 30 day fat burner by patrick holford. very difficult to follow the diet plan. but one of the things he says to cut out is caffiene. it's all about eating healthily. Initially you may feel like you have lost weight when you drink coffee as it dehydates you so you lose water and it can sometimes have a mild laxative effect but it really isn't good for you. i've given it up for a week now. will just have a cup occasionally. still have tea tho. i can't give up everything. :)

I was actually just reading yesterday that caffeine is Not bad for weight loss, that getting cafffeine actually helps your metabolism. I couldn't definitely say either way since I don't get alot of caffeine in my system. Personally though, I don't think caffeine would be your problem. I've been on a stand-still for two weeks too without really changing anything I'm doing. I think it's more a matter of your body getting used to what you've been doing.

The American Heart Association recommends no more than 1500 sodium for everyone and especially anyone who has any type of health condition. I have kidney stones so I follow this. I only have coffee when I am getting a migraine and it takes care of it most times.

That seems like an awful lot of caffeine. I love my coffee, but limit myself to 2 cups in the AM and water the rest of the day. If anything I may have a sugar free lemonade. Tea is caffeine too so you may want to try to cut back. Some is good for you but too much of anything is not.

Whan I was on weight watchers, we had one day a week that we could eat extra claories. This was so that your metabolism does not get 'stuck' in the same ste all the time. The extra calories once a week actually helps to keep you from hitting that point where you just stop the weight loss. Try to give yourself that one day to eat the things that you have marked off your list and enjoy. The one day of extra cals may be just what your body needs to jump start it again! Keep us posted!!

Try to cut the coffee back to 2 cups daily, and replace the extra cups with unsweetened, brewed hot green tea.

I don't drink coffee, but I would be wondering, how much cream and sugar are going into those 5 cups of coffee as well.

If you feel that it might be causing a problem (everybody reacts different).
Go back to Decaf and find out yourself.

Trial and error helps most people.
