starting fresh and not loosing

I have been back on track for about 2 weeks now after several months of not caring. In the 2 weeks though, I have only lost one lb. I thought in the beginning, people typically loose more because of water weight. I am sort of discouraged with only loosing 1 lb. Am I doing something wrong? Most days I have a little bit of calories left, I am exercising, and drinking a lot more water than I had been.
Help!

What is your calorie goal? And are you eating back exercise cals?
  • My goal that MFP has given me is 1820. I sometimes eat back excercise cals, not always.

MFP works best for people who realize this isn't a diet, it is a lifestyle change. Adjust your expectations and be patient. This will take time. Exercise added to calorie reductions will do the job reliably but not instantly. When I set a goal to lose so many pounds by X date, I get disappointed and feel like a failure, but when I set my goals to eat at/under the goal MPF has set for me and exercise so many minutes per day I succeed. I've lost quite a bit of weight so far, but it comes off at its own pace. There have been lots of plateaus. They're temporary. Just keep going.

Good luck. Please don't give up!
