Hi...I need some help...I got a polar fit 4 heart rate monitor 3 weeks ago because i didnt believe the mfp calorie calculations nor do I believe the machine calorie readouts...When I first used the hrm it was great....The calories burned were somewhere in the middle of the machine readouts and mfp calculations...But lately I noticed that the polar fit doesnt kick in until 5 minutes into the workout...and the same workout with the same intensity gives me different readouts...Does anyone else have this problem??? Thanks...

Do you wet the strap each time? Do you wash the strap once a week? Do you have it on tight enough and right up under your bra strap? Any of these can cause issues with the connection and give you inaccurate results.

Like OP said. But otherwise, different calorie numbers are normal. Also make sure to adjust your weight regularly.

I do wet the strap but only a very little...Should I wet it a lot? I am going to tighten it more...

Yeah important about the weight adjustment. I recently gained weight and I forgot to update my polar ft 4. Now it seems to be accurate with the treadmill im using.

I've found that running water over the sensor part of the strap works best - if I just lightly wet the sensor part that seems to be when I have problems.

Great suggestions from those above...IF the watch still gives you problems contact Polar directly. They replaced a watch for me that was having difficulty. It took a bit of time but they were great to work with.

    Good Luck
