Hi, I'm new to this so havn't started using the app properly yet to log my eating. Having felt fairly tired and lacking in energy though recently i've noted down what i've eaten and drunk in the last five days and would be extremely grateful if anyone has an opinion on what i'm eating. Don't get me wrong, I realise my diet isn't the best, but I'm ashamed to say I understand very little of how to build a complete healthy diet, and would be very grateful if anyone could say whats not good about it e.g. what am I not getting which would explain my diminishing energy levels.
Many thanks in advance for any responses.
Jim

You are correct in saying that your diet isn't the best. I would advise trying to get some more fruits & vegetables in. It looks like you're trying that already with squash, a salad, and a couple of oranges but eat more!
Also, do you put anything in your coffee? Creamers and sugar waste a lot of your daily calories. If you haven't started already, try to go black (or at least cut the amount of creamer you use). Alcohol will also take up a lot of your calories but it appears that you only drink for special occasions (judging by the notes next to your alcohol consumption).
You also seem to eat a lot of pre-packaged foods. Try cooking more of your own food so you can control what goes in. It makes it much more convienient if you can cook large enough amounts to freeze and eat through out the week.0 -
Thank you very much for your reply bdburch.
In coffee I tend to have skimmed milk and a sweetener or a teaspoon of sugar. I think trying to cook more myself and eat less prepacked stuff would help, particularly to get the fruit and veg intake up. I do cook the odd thing like bolognese or chilli and freeze that but find fruit and veg just end up going off which is probably why i dont tend to buy them much. I didnt realise realise until I noted it down just how little fruit and veg I eat - clearly an orange every other day isnt gonna do the job!
The alcohol is only normally weekends or occasions so I suspect that's not really an issue.
Thanks again for your comments.0
