Has anyone tried the Quigong workouts? My mom just got one and I tried it today it was very nice and relaxing a little like yoga I suppose. I was surprised with even the simple movements you felt it.
Just wondering if anyone knows of a good one to use. I liked hers too but thought I would find out if there are others.

I use the one that is on the You, Staying Young DVD. Includes two other workouts as well. I enjoyed it. Which one does your mom have?0

She has the Qigong Beginning Practice with Francesco and Daisy Lee- Garripoli it is a 2 disc set so I only saw about a half hour of one. But it was a nice switch as my back and neck have been hurting alot lately.
I had sort of a hard time slowing down to the pace they were showing it but I think it might be helpful with my pain issues. How long have you used it and has it helped you in any way?

I haven't used it that long - maybe a month? I have been doing yoga for 7-8 years and they have similar benefits, I think. It helps me focus and releases stress. If you have problems slowing down, focus on the breath as well as the movement - it's hard to think about anything else then.
Whether it will help with pain, I'm not sure. Yoga also helps with a lot of pain issues, but it can make them worse as well. For example, if you have lower back pain that is caused by weak muscles (most of it is), yoga (and I assume Qigong) will help a lot. However, if it is caused by skeletal issues, it will make it worse (sometimes). If you have fibromyalgia or another chronic pain condition, it will help a lot.
