Hello, I'm desperately in need of some help. I have recently recovered from an ED, and weighted 121 at 5'6.5 about a week and a half ago. Since then, I have been steadily gaining DAILY, and am now 125 i am pretty sure my stomach pooch looks much bigger, and I can't understand why I am gaining on the amount I was eating? My goal was set for 1500, and I was maintaining for about two weeks (raised it from 1200) but now the gain has convinced me to tr 1400? My food diary is open.

Are you seeing anyone about your ED? You sound like you may still need to talk to someone, recovery is a long road that takes a lot of time.
Your metabolism is probably damaged from the ED - you need to discuss this with a Dr as you are still not eating enought for your height. Do not drop your calories - I'm guessing you are meant to be maintaining, not losing any more weight. You need to reset your metabolism - but this may cause weight gain initally, since you are in recover this could be very stressful for you.
Try not to weigh yourself daily as weight naturally fluxuates daily due to all sort of things.0 -
Do not weigh daily! Ever. Also, weight can fluctuate 5-ish pounds throughout the day. Also, it might be completely hormonal if you're getting near your period.
Go see a doctor about your concerns. They will steer you in the right direction. :flowerforyou:0 -
your body will hold onto additional calories for a little while since its been deprived for so long.
trust me, been there, experienced that.
slowly ease in the calories. add 100 cals this week. then add a 100 more the next...there will be a little weight gain at first, but bear in mind that a lot of things are mental games/water bloat and so on.
it is crucial, to bring your metabolism back up. think of it as taking one step backwards in order to go 2 steps forward.
your mind will mess with you and make you wanna cut back on cals and so on....dont! its part of recovering from the ED. but the main thing is to gradually add back in the cals and its always best if you`re exercising at the same time. but obviously, its best to see a professional depending on the severity of your situation and so on. im just giving my opinion here and its worked well for me so far.
all the best0
