Shin Splints?

I have been running/walking at least a little bit most days over the last few months. Suddenly, the sides of my calves, and my ankles hurt when I walk. Does this sound like shin splints? If so, any tips or advice? I am an underpronator. I wear out my shoes on the outside faster. Maybe it's my shoes (Adizero)?

Doesn't sound like shin splints - I get those, and I get shooting pains or deep aches up the front of my shins.

Thanks! I'm not sure what it is, but I want it to go away! :)

It could be your shoes! If you're wearing the incorrect shoes your foot could be putting undue pressure on your calves by "throwing" them out of alignment which will eventually affect your hips! Foot / leg / hip all work together. You can always check with your doctor (or get him/her to refer you to a pediatrist)... to rule out chronic/acute ailments. Otherwise get the right gear for what your activity is. Good luck out there!!!:happy:

Shin splints are a burning type of pain up the front of your leg (shins).
If you ever do experience shin splints, they say walking on your heels for 5 minutes or so at a time will help.
Hope whatever you have starts feeling better soon. Probably just sore muscles from the walking. Make sure you stretch properly too.

You could try some stretches before you walk to see if that helps?

I do ankle rolls before and after each walk! 10 clockwise, 10 anti clockwise on each foot of course and then stretch the shins. It's helped me no end! But on the days I forget or think I don't have time to do them I suffer!
