I'm going to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner, which is one of my favorite places to go. It kind of peaves me that their website doesn't include nutritional information. They claim they don't know what they are going to be required to report so they are holding off...blah, blah blah. There is some info on here that I used to try to plan out my dinner. I'm still a little nervous it's going to be a trainwreck. I'm trying to plan carefully without depriving myself and I took an extra long walk today.
My plan is 5oz Ribeye (It comes in 10oz but I'm going to cut it in half right away and put the other half in a takeout box), mashed potatoes and vegetables. Oh, and 1 of those delicious rolls. Pray for me. LOL

your plan sounds absolutely fine- I go out to eat about once a week and I'm never too hard on myself for that one meal. Don't sweat it0

You will do great! You are already on a great track by deciding what to order before you get there. Leave the menu closed and enjoy your steak!0

Thanks, I've only been on the program for 2 weeks and I'm nervous about not having control over what goes into my food yet. I want progress. I did Jenny Craig about 6 years ago and lost 50 lbs on it after a year but gained it all back during my pregnancy. I wish there was an immediate result button but I know it is work. LOL0

Eat the veggies and roll (your treat) before the mashed potatos so you might eat less and cut a few calories0

I totally get what you're saying about not feeling comfortable not knowing what is in the food you're eating. But just think about how you're already doing so much better than you were before! That's progress too! Whenever I feel like I had a "bad" day, I think about what a normal day for me used to look like, and remind myself that even though I won't be perfect, I'm trending in the right direction.0

LOL, I did the calculations and came out with the same thing. I was sure to take double the walk that I normally do and I just had a salad with greens and a couple of ounces of chicken for lunch so I'd be ready to consume the extra calories. All went well. I stuck to my plan and I feel good. Today I brought a quarter of my leftover steak to add to my salad for lunch so I get to continue enjoying the yummy goodness.0

I try to remember that. I am so desperate to get to a normal weight but try to remember that it takes time. It took time to gain it, it'll take time to lose it. There was a time when I wouldn't have planned and would have gobbled down the steak, with chilli, mashed potatoes and maybe even headed for dessert. Baby steps.0

Just make sure what you eat the rest of the day will allow you to stay within your goal and you can eat whatver you want0
