    I would like to say character and inner beauty is more important. If I say this, then I am an enlightened individual who has evolved to that next plane. But sadly I'm NOT. Outward appearance matters, I really wish it didn't. I would love to say that it does not even make it on the reserve important list but it's on the 1st list.

    I can't say that its the most important thing, but they both play a pretty important, almost EQUAL role depending on the circumstances. I won't tolerate someone who is an absolute inner troglodyte but outer god/goddess, but nor can I say I would persue an intimate relationship with someone who has an inner core that is exquisite in the extreme but outwardly quite grotesque, (unless I get to really know them and they reach me on some level).

    So when you go with inner vs. outward appearance, you have to be more specific, if we are talking platonic, hell, INNER wins hands down, if we are talking more in depth, then while outer isn't the be all that ends all, it is just as important as inner, maybe not AS significant, but my goodness, you must at least feel some warm tingly of some kind, or its just a friend.

    Definitely an interesting question! For me it comes down to self doubt. I have no doubt that my inner beauty is what makes me attractive; however, I have lots of doubts about my appearance. Therefore, at the current time, I am more concerned about my outward appearance. In regards to what I want in the other person, it depends on the type/length of relationship. I would definitely want a combination of both, with more emphasis on the inner beauty.

    I feel the same way. It's like she wrote my thoughts/feelings. ^

    I'm 50/50, both with myself any people when it comes to dating/sex/etc. For anyone else their personality is really the only thing that matters to me.

    I value myself on always being kind and not judge people before I get to know them, but I am very vain and obsessed with how I look and dress so I'd say I'm more concerned with my self appearance.

    I am attracted to people who have charisma and dress well, but that is not a criteria, just an inclination. I don't know if charisma counts as outward appearance though. But in the long term, character of others is the most important to me. A good looking person with a nasty personality is the most unbearable kind if you think about it haha.

    Someones character is much more important to me but ofcourse, if someone is very good looking, you notice but it really isn't the most important thing unless you are shallow.

    You could be the prettiest girl / handsome male and have the ugliest personality. I don't fall in love with peoples looks :smile:

    inner beauty is the most important to me. like the other poster said its the most important. when you have inner beauty that shines from the outside.

    People are like stores/shops, if you put everything in the front window you will attract people in, but once they see the store is empty they will leave pretty soon.
