    Chicken.

Nuts have way too many carbs. Hardly considered a low carb snack.

Beef jerky!!!! Though you have to choose wisely, some have a LOT of sugars added to them, but it's still a great high-protein snack. I keep a ton around the house, at work and in my car when I'm in need of a quick and most importantly non-perishable protein snack. :)

Also eggs and meats. My aunt carries around 4oz of chicken tenderloins in her purse during the day, wrapped in foil. lol

Beef jerky but watch the sugar
Veggies with dip -- I like bell pepper, celery and broccoli with ranch or blue cheese dip made with mayo or greek yogurt
nuts are fine as long as you don't go overboard and aren't aimimg for like 20g of carbs
    Hard boiled eggs
    String cheese
    Pre-cooked chicken tenders

    There's tons of options

Buy a dehydrator and make your own jerky= no sugar :) Also I love pork rinds when I need extra fat too.
  • Celery + PB + a few raisins = pure protein/low carb bliss

What kind of nuts are you eating? 10 almonds have like 2 carbs...

I actually keep atkins bars on hand for when I am really hungry. They even have one that tastes like a snickers bar with 2 net carbs (HEAVEN!!). Other than that: Pork rinds, hard cheeses (cheddar, colby jack), peanut butter (though check labels some have A LOT of sugar), boiled shrimp, chicken tenders, or even leftover steak. (I generally stay away from jerky because I grab the bag and eat it all ends up being a lot of carbs more than 12).
  • Ham Roll-ups! They're like a low carb cuban sandwich

Use deli ham that's low in sugar
    spread with some cream cheese
    add some mustard
lay a pickle spear on it
    roll up like a burrito

    Artichoke jalapeno lettuce wraps -
    Costco jalapeno artichoke dip
Romaine heart (costco has great boat-shaped ones)
Turkey burger (or chopped chicken breast, pork loin, etc)
Mix dip with meat, place in romaine heart (or iceberg leaf)
    enjoy

    light mozzarella sticks
dry roasted peanuts, almonds, or walnuts
light Greek yogurt (does have some carbohydrates though)
  • Hard boiled egg
    string cheese
    cottage cheese
    raw almonds
greek yogurt Plain...you add the fruit
some left over meat..chicken, steak, or pork

Greek yogurt and cottage cheese are not particularly low carb unless you're well past induction.

This requires some prep but it's not hard and then you have a quick snack for the rest of the week.

Spray a muffin pan with Pam spray

In bowl mix 1 cup liquid egg substitute, 1 package of defrosted and squeezed out chopped spinach, 1/2 shredded part skim mozzerella cheese and black pepper to taste.

Divide into muffin tin (I fill them up almost all the way and I think I had 8 "muffins")

Bake in preheated oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. Let cool in muffin pan. Skim edges with spatula to pop out egg souffles or whatever you want to call them. You can put in baggies and keep in fridge for a few days and microwave to reheat.

    Per two "muffins"
    Calories- 122
    Carbs- 5
    Fat- 4
Protein- 15 ***pretty awesome for the calorie count****
    Sodium- 455 (kind of high)
    Calcium- 35
  • One minute muffins - If you've never had them they're worth a try. When I was doing LC, I wasn't getting enough fiber and had trouble making... movements.

The one minute muffins were not tasty, but they were very filling and kept things moving. I'd generally have breakfast, and keep a one minute muffin in my purse. My rule to myself was that I had to eat it before I ate any of the food I brought for lunch. Not only would it be filling, but it would ruin my appetite for real food, so it was effective.
