Please help me :(

Well, I've been working out since last June. I lift some serious weight. I love lifting and do it at least 3 times a week. I do cardio almost every day. At least 45 minutes. I eat clean. [Most of the time]. I get enough sleep. I am energised, strong and I love the gym. My endurance level has greatly improved.
but.... my WEIGHT LOSS IS SO DARN SLOW... it is yo yo-ing most of the time. Some weeks I just don't lose at all. I got good muscles but can really feel the fat layer over it. My tummy has lost only 1 inch for all 8 months...
I try to remember that this is a way of life and not lose motivation.
But can anyone please tell me whether I'm doing anything wrong? The only thing I can think of is some hormonal imbalance. Honestly, I'm too afraid to see a doctor... can anyone who got treatment for a hormonal tell me whether their rate of weightloss improved with medication?
I'm feeling really sad

Have you looked at what you are eating? I noticed you haven't used the food tracking tool on this site. That could very possibly be a reason.0

It doesn't matter if you're eating clean if you're eating too much. Track your food intake. Weight lifting is great but it isn't much of a calorie burn.0

You have your calorie goal set to 1200 which might not be enough for you and you're not tracking which could also be the problem like someone else pointed out.
I would calculate your TDEE and BMR and look up other topics on MFP about TDEE and BMR.0 -
I concur with the previous posts. I thought I was staying within my calorie range but this site has a great food log with a scanner option for smart phones. I was surprised at how many calories I was actually consuming when I began using the tracker.
Weight lifting is great for building muscle, which will help your metabolism, but if you are looking for weight loss, maybe cut it back some? My personal trainer told me to alternate cardio and weight training so that I am never doing weight training back to back. I have had some success with this so far and if it is something you havent tried yet, it is worth a shot.
Good luck!0 -
My first guess would be that you are eating too much. Exercise allows you to eat more, but once you create a calorie surplus you are not going to lose no matter how much you are exercising.
But if it is hormonal it's likely treatable with medication. Hiding from a medical problem rarely makes it better.0 -
I'd try tracking your food for a few weeks.0

Obviously the first thing should be to check your intake via the diary facility...do it for a few weeks. It really is surprising when you track, its all the picking at little things in between meals that I found as my problem! They soon add up.
As for homonal inbalance if you have symptoms you should get checked at a doctor, weight gain, excess hair, mood swings and many more, can all be hormane inbalance issues. Also check your contraception if any, things like the pill and other forms of female contraception can cause symptoms as well.0 -
HI - I would agree. Track your food so you can see where your getting your carbs, fat and protein. this has really helped me alot; and even in a short time i can see that i was over eating ALOT. We can tell ourselves that we are eating healthy but when you actually write it down and review it; different story.
Additionally, you sound stressed about weight loss and maybe other things too; the more stress you have the more your body wants to store the fat. When i get stressed all i want to do is eat, even if it's good food; you body will store it! Try some relaxing activites/techniques.
I would do somewhere between 1200/1500 calories a day if you are doing 45 mins of cardio a day like your post says.0 -
I am tracking it...however, the problem with MFP tool is that it doesn't have the food I usually eat...you know... the traditional Sri Lankan food0

Thank you all for the great tips well as almost everyone voted on tracking food, I will try my best to do it. Only problem is that mfp doesn't really have the food I eat in their database. So i guess for starters maybe I should change my diet in to a more western choices... We do suffer from having 'rice bellies' here..
Much love to everyone0
