Hello!
I'm new to this website and am pretty impressed so far! Here is my question.....the "goal" calories....is that the number of calories I need per day to MAINTAIN or the number I need to LOSE?

Depends on what you signed up for. If you signed up with "I would like to maintain" then it's maintenance calories, if you told the site you want to lose weight, then it's to lose. Enjoy them either way!0

THE GOAL CALORIES ARE WHAT YOU SHOULD STICK TO EVERYDAY, WHEN YOU EXERCISE IT GIVES YOU EXTRA CALORIES SO DO NOT BE CONFUSED I TRY AND STICK TO MY GOAL OF 1570 EVERY DAY BUT SOMETIMES I MIGHT GO OVER BUT IF I DO I JUST EAT LESS THE REST OF THE WEEK TO EQUAL OUT WHAT I ATE OVER. WHAT YOU WANT IS TO EXERCISE AND BURN ATLEAST 3500-4000 CALORIES IN A WEEK THIS WILL GET YOU THAT 1 POUND A WEEK. HOPE THAT HELPS

MFP gives you a calorie goal that is what you are supposed to eat daily to lose weight. It already creates a calorie deficit for you so you should stay close to that number. So, in other words, you should be able to lose weight if you stick to your daily goal regardless of exercise. Though, of course, adding exercise is always better for you.0

Okay, that's what I thought. I just wanted to check because at the end of the day, it's showing that I have calories left. That's because of the exercise calories that I earned. I work for WW so I know that I could to eat or not eat those extra calories.
I'm really impressed with all the tools of this website!0
