a bit confused??

OK help me out here. I guess I'm not up to par with all of the internet slang out here in the cyberspace world (thought I was)....but what does trolling mean??? There was a post I was reading that talked about a girl who was eating less than 700 calories a day (I think thats crazy but I'm not going to go there) and everyone was accusing her of trolling. To me I was thinking "what the hell does that mean?" when scrolling through the post. I was going to post in the forum about it....but apparently it got deleted before I could do so. I feel like I'm having a "mom moment." I'm only 28 (with no kids) and a teacher, so I really try my best to keep myself in the loop of things. Totally missing out here...hahaha!

A troll is someone who posts a controversial topic hoping that it will set off an argument/upset others.. In this case someone posting eating a very low calorie diet knowing that people would tell her to eat more etc.

    Edit quote from Wikipedia

In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."
While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."[4][5]
