I'm going on a school trip this week to Chicago, Tuesday morning to Friday evening and was wondering what kinds of snacks I should take on the bus? It's an approximately eight hour trip each way. We're coming from Canada, so they also have to be able to cross the border. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Trailmix-make sure no one near you is allergic to nuts! Watch your potions on this. It is way too easy to over indulge!
    Popcorn
Jello or pudding cups (the ones that don't need a fridge)
    Cheesesticks
    Pretzels
    100 calorie snack packs
    Fresh fruit

I don't eat processed foods, so I would stick with the trail mix, fruit, and nuts.

Can you take a mini cooler, like a lunchbox or something? If so, throw in some ziploc snack bags with carrots and celery with small containers of ranch, if you choose. Also, some apples and PB, 90 calorie chewy granola bars, snack bags with pretzels or nuts, Quaker mini rice cakes, or several other things. I have begun taking these when we are at my kids' activities or traveling. It saves a lot of money and I have my portion control as well.

My go-to foods are baby carrots, cheestrings, and crackers... I also like mini-cucumbers if I have a cooler handy, especially on long trips. Mini rice cakes sound like a good idea, I'll have to try that sometime... and of course, lots of water! Have fun on your trip!

The boyfriend and I are going on vacation tomorrow, we'll be on the road for a couple of days (with a stop over at a hotel), so I'll be bringing a lot of snack items for the LONG drive. Here is what I plan on bringing in a couple of small coolers that will sit in the back seat:

    Oranges
    Apples
    Bananas
Sandwiches (98% fat free meat with light mayo and whole grain bread)
    Cherries (depitted)
    Grapes
    Bottled water
    100 calorie snack packs
    Baby Carrots
    Deviled Eggs
    Nuts

That way we can have a couple of mini-meals in the car and not have to resort to stopping at some drive thru that would derail my weight loss in a hurry. lol

Anyway, I hope that helps give you some ideas. :)

The Quaker Mini Sea Salt and Pepper are great!

Apparently you can't take fruit across the border. So there might be a chance of me throwing good fruit out if I bring it. :(
