Does anyone know the calorie value of fresh milk? I mean fresh un-pasturised still warm from the cow milk. I'd be interested to know the nutritional value to but for now the calories would do. Thanks in advance.

it's WARM from the cow!?!?!??!?
Ok. I don't know why that surprised me.
Cows are mammals.
Mammals are warm.
Unless they are a scorned cat. In which case, they are cold. Until you squeeze their ADORABLE little bellies!!!! (Which are warm)
No, I don't know the answer
maybe check nutritiondata.self.com0 -
It is roughly the same calorie content as whole milk, the pasterization process only heats up the milk to try to kill bacteria.0

search for raw milk to find fresh unpasteurized milk0

it should be the same. They merely heat it up for killing bacteria and negligible changes to density happens, if any.0

If you are getting your milk this way, are you also able to scoop off the heavy cream that is on the milk? I remember my dad using it for his coffee and I have heard of some familie making their own butter from it.0

Doesn't that sound delicious? I used to order raw milk a few years ago and I never used the cream before! What a waste. I heard you can scoop the cream off and put in a jar with some cleaned rocks and shake it to make butter. I'm trying to find another source of raw milk to try it.0 -
i would guess same as whole milk, i usually use this to find products that are not listed here http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/generic/milk-cows-fluid-whole?portionid=729&portionamount=1.000
man i use to love that milk drank it when i was a kid at a daily base everyone got a cup and got some fresh milk in it right after the milking was done before we send the milk off to be sold0 -
Thanks for the info and help. We live near a Dairy farm so it makes sense to buy raw and fresh. The kids love the whole experience and yes I agree....the best bit is the cream! I haven't tried making butter from it. Just yogurt.0

besides the calorie content.. fresh milk is remarkably more nutriitious for you than store milk. Its said to be helpful in curing ashma and alergies too.0

We just love our raw milk too! And I agree with the other peeps--fresh milk is listed under "raw".
For those in search of a source: http://www.realmilk.com/real-milk-finder/
But there are many small co-ops out there too that aren't on this list, so google and ask around!0 -

Excellent!! so glad you found one so quickly! Do they offer other products as well? My co-op has meat, raw honey, maple syrup, etc. I really love it--and it's all locally grown/organic!0
