Well, here goes nothing! If this website helps me and the military health and wellness center could not, I will be impressed. I'm very determined to lose this weight, and be happy with myself! My sister is gettng married next month, and I would like to lose an inch or two before I see myself in her wedding pics! I'm here for long term results, so you'll be seeing this mug around for some time to come :)

    Hi,

Welcome. I am new here today as well. I am sure you can do this. We all can if we really committ and find friends to help us stay motivated. What plan are you following? What about exercise? Do you have that planned also?

I would be happy to help motivate you.

Welcome! MFP will help you if you use it and stay accountable for everything that goes in your mouth. I know it will! I have used it since July 1st and lost 8.5 lbs. You can do it!! Good luck . (friend request me if you would like)

It is like the fb for fitness!
  • Hey all,

I'm not on a set fitness plan, my job doesn't really allow that haha. But, I go to spin and zumba class, I run 2-4 miles at a time, along with some strength training mixed in. I work out all the time! Whenever I can go usually equates to 4-5 times per week, 1+ hour each. I've started trying to run a couple miles after spin and zumba just to get my cardio fill for the day, or lift some weights afterwards. The chief that does my spin class adds 15 min of abs onto the end, which is great!

I find it near impossible to lose weight, but I am really liking the accountability this site has (and the app) for helping me keep trac of exactly what is in my food! I eat pretty well, but I already discovered that due to my obsession with fruit, I was taking in too much sugar! So, I will have to find other healthy, non-fruit items to snack on as well ;)

I'm down 2 pounds, which is a start. I freaked when I weighed in at the clinic and I was 166 (in full uniform). But even in PT gear I was about 162, which put my actual weight around 160. Mind you, I've been on this hardcore workout schedule since April. And I'm down 2 pounds. It's gonna be a long road, but an interesting one! I look forward to sharing it with you all!

    And Emi,
    A) I'm sure you're not a dork ;)
    B) I am maid of honor at my sister's wedding at the end of August, one of my reasons for trying to kick it up a notch!
