Struggling to loose belly fat

About 2 months ago I've started exercising. At first it was some light exercise, and now I spend on treadmill around 40 min 4-5 times a week. I do push myself and run with sprinting intervals and incline. Besides that about 2 weeks ago I've started eating really healthy and counting my calories too. The problem is that I've lost 2 kg, but my target area- belly hasn't changed. What should I do ? What is the trick?
That is what I've ate this week.

Monday
Breakfast:Porridge with some strawberry jam
Lunch:Pan fried sea bass, with mixed green salad and green beans
Dinner:30g cashew nuts,2 hard boiled eggs
Snack: Soy caramel latte

Tuesday:
Breakfast:Porridge with some strawberry jam
lunch:Tuna steak with mixed green salad
Dinner: Hard Boiled egg, strawberries, banana
Snacks: 30 g cashew nuts, soy caramel latte

Wednesday:
Breakfast:Porridge with some maple syrup
Lunch:Turkey breast with boiled carrots and green beans
Dinner: 2 activia light yogurts (around 200 cal), banana, pear
Snacs: soy caramel latte

Thursday:
Breakfast: Banana, porridge with some strawberry jam
lunch: green salad with chicken breast
Dinner:smoothie( carrot, frozen berries, some pineaaple, cinamon), a pear.
I was exercising every day in the evening (4.30-5.30) and had my last meal before 8pm.

Shouldn't I see difference in my belly area? Please help me.
PS. my height is 178cm and weight 68.4kg

There's really no "trick". You'll lose your belly whenever you drop bodyfat enough.
2 weeks in a diet isn't long enough to gauge efficiency really, 2 months is really not a big timeframe either.

What you really need to do is keep tracking your diet very closely. Most people over-estimate their intake. Going to the gym is all well and good, but if you're still not making a calorie deficit you're not going to change your body composition.
  • Be patient. Easier said than done, but it hasn't been long enough. -- I was pushing a size 18 not so long ago, now the 14's are falling off, and it took about 3 months to see a big difference in the 'belly' area. It's still disappearing slowly but I can feel muscle under the flab so...it's a LONG journey. But, already in better shape now than before I had kids! =)

Also, if you are cheating on your food journal, really you are only cheating yourself. Don't forget the drinks count too, and the alcohol adds up especially fast.

Keep going, You'll get there! =) Good Luck!
  • Sounds like you're getting lots of carbs and not a whole lot of vegetables.

    You cannot spot reduce fat.

Keep losing weight and the belly fat will go away.

    Be consistent and be patient.

Unfortunately, you cannot target the areas to lose fat. Your body will lose fat in the areas and order it wants to lose fat, and you can't do anything about it, unfortunately!

Having said that, you can do tonight and muscle building exercises targeting specific areas so that when you do lose the fat from there, the areas will look great!

I'm not an expert on exercises though. There are probably others here that can give you some great exercises to specifically target the areas you are looking for.

^^^ I second this. In your case I think the patience part is important. It sounds like you have only been counting calories for a few weeks. Keep eating at a deficit and exercising and your weight will continue to drop.

    This.

There's at least 10 threads that get started here everyday about how to lose belly fat, and the answer never changes. Eat at a calorie deficit and do some exercise...be consistent...be patient...and it will come off.

You've already gotten some good responses. I thought I'd add that at your height, your weight is good. What you really want to look into is changing your body composition from fat to muscle and most people recommend heavy lifting for that.

Good luck! I can identify with your problem, as I carry most of my weight in my belly.

    Keep it simple.
  • I agree with Laurelthequee here. Maybe try to add more green salads and organic nuts (without the dry fruits) into your diet.
