I'm posting this because there's a lot of conflicting information on the forums, which may or may not be particularly confusing to some of the newer members of MFP. Losing weight is not rocket science. It just takes commitment. Being healthy is not rocket science either.

This isn't a diet, it's just a way of life, and if you want the weight to stay off, you have to make it permanent.

Food is not the enemy.

Fat is not the enemy.

Carbs are not the enemy.

Sodium is not the enemy.

Chemicals, sugar, nor high-fructose corn syrup is the enemy.

Fast food corporations are not the enemy.

No, the only enemy you need to worry about when it comes to your health is yourself.

Educate yourself, make the choices that are right for you. Yes, you can still have ice cream, you can still have fast food, you can still go to the movies and buy candy and popcorn if you want. Moderate your choices and your intake, that's what the bottom line here is. Exercising on a regular basis is an important aspect of health, but not necessary to lose weight. Don't make this harder than it needs to be. That's all I wanted to say.

awesome but be sure to point out as well that weight loss does not mean more healthy. Losing weight is fine, losing fat is better, getting more healthy overall is best.
